Word Scrambler started the way a lot of small projects do: out of frustration. Every word-unscrambler site we tried was buried under pop-ups, slow to load a simple word list, or wanted an account just to look up seven letters. We wanted something that just worked — type your letters, get your words, get back to your game.
What it actually is
An unscrambler, anagram solver, Wordle and Quordle solver, dictionary checker, random word generator, Wordfeud helper, and a way to browse the whole word list. Every tool runs entirely in your browser, backed by a dictionary of roughly 246,000 words — no server doing the work behind the scenes.
Why that matters to you
The tools work the same at 2pm as they do at 2am, with no waiting on a server and nothing about your search sitting in a log file. No account, no password, no trail of every word you’ve ever looked up.

A note on accuracy
Our dictionary favors completeness over familiarity, so you’ll occasionally see a valid word you’ve never heard of sitting next to one you use every day. Every tool has a “Common words only” option if you’d rather stick to everyday words. And because different games use different official word lists, treat these tools as a strong starting point — not the final word on what’s allowed in your game.
Designed to actually be pleasant to use
There’s a proper dark mode for late-night puzzling, everything works fine on a phone, and there’s no autoplay video or newsletter pop-up fighting for your attention the moment you land on the page.
The dictionary is a living thing
Building a word list that’s both large and accurate takes ongoing work — we combine established word-list sources with regular corrections from people like you. If a word looks wrong, or a common one is missing, that’s not us being careless; it’s exactly the kind of gap that gets fixed once someone tells us about it.
What’s next
We’re a small, self-funded project, so you may start seeing a small number of ads around the site soon — that’s what keeps the lights on and lets us keep every tool free with no account required. We’ll never let ads get in the way of the tools themselves, and they won’t have access to anything you type into them (see our Privacy Policy for the details).
